Basic questions for your entertainment

  • Do you have liability insurance? Can you supply me with proof?
Responsible business owners carry liability insurance to protect their cutomers and their businesses.
  • Do you play requests from us and our guests?
Versatile entertainer(s) is willing to listen to your suggestions, give you feedback and play from a desired song list. A band and orchestra may be more limited in their ability to take requests from your guests, due to repritoir, but a dj should.
  • Do you use Professional Equipment?
Professional gear does not guarantee an entertainer's talent or service level, and this is a question probably more important to DJs. You do not need a DJ that shows up with a laptop and two computer speakers and considers this his show.
  • Do you provide backup equipment at my event?
IF the equipment is well maintained, failure is rare, but it can happen.
  • Do the Entertainers know the proper etiquette for your type of party?
  • How much time do you allow for set-up and is the set-up seperate from the performance time?
  • Do they provide a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing. Ask for a written agreement, especially if you are paying an initial retainer.
  • Will the entertainer(s) be suitably dressed for our occasion?
A band or DJ that shows up to a black tie event in blue jeans and tshirts is going to be an eye sore for your carefully planned part. Make sure they are aware of the level of dress required at your event and that they can match it.
